Smart grid research

Smart management of power flows is advocated for more efficient, reliable and safe operation of power grids where distributed generation from renewables is significantly present.

In our lab, we are working in several areas related to the smart grid:

  • Communications and protocols for the smart grid and smart home
  • Power line communications in LV and MV networks
  • Smart metering
  • State estimation and fault monitoring
  • Storage-battery charge estimation
  • Smart home
